K.C. Gates, PhD, DVM
Dr. K.C. Gates grew up in the Flathead Valley and is grateful to be back home serving the community where she was raised. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology at Colorado State University.
Dr. K.C.'s professional interests include preventive medicine, dentistry, nutrition, geriatric medicine, feline medicine, behavior, soft tissue surgery, and backyard poultry care. She is one of the few veterinarians in the Flathead Valley who provides medical care for poultry and enjoys helping families keep their backyard flocks healthy. As a Certified Pet Nutrition Coach, she is passionate about helping pets live longer, healthier lives through preventive care, individualized nutrition, and strengthening the human-animal bond. She especially enjoys partnering with pet caregivers to develop personalized treatment plans that help pets thrive throughout every stage of life.
During college, Dr. K.C. volunteered in Costa Rica with a macaw conservation program, an experience that further strengthened her passion for wildlife conservation and veterinary medicine.
Outside the hospital, Dr. K.C. enjoys singing with the Glacier Chorale, serving at her local church, drawing, painting, and exploring other artistic pursuits. She also enjoys attending musicals, symphony performances, and orchestral concerts, as well as spending time with her husband, Dr. Brandon Gates, their three children, and enjoying everything the Flathead Valley has to offer.

Brandon Gates, DVM, CVMA, CIVCA
Dr. Brandon Gates, originally from Fort Sill Army Base in Oklahoma and raised in Texas, earned his bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. He pursued advanced training through an internship in livestock medicine and surgery, followed by a residency in comparative theriogenology (animal reproduction) at Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Brandon's professional interests include preventive medicine, emergency and critical care, infectious disease, toxicology, geriatric medicine, lameness diagnosis and evaluation, physical therapy and rehabilitation, pain management and analgesia, hospice and palliative care, and integrative veterinary medicine, including acupuncture, chiropractic, rehabilitation, and evidence-based botanical therapies. He enjoys working through challenging medical cases and is especially passionate about preserving and strengthening the human-animal bond by helping pets maintain the highest possible quality of life throughout every stage of life. He also believes that educating pet caregivers is one of the most important aspects of veterinary medicine, empowering families to make informed decisions and become active partners in their pets' care.
Dr. Brandon is certified in animal chiropractic through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA) and veterinary acupuncture through CuraCore Veterinary Academy.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Brandon enjoys coaching youth sports, staying active outdoors, rafting, playing bass, guitar, and drums, serving on his church worship team, training and hunting with his Deutsch Kurzhaar, and spending time with his wife, Dr. K.C. Gates, their three children, and enjoying everything the Flathead Valley has to offer.

Jim Quartuccio, MS, VMD
Dr. Jim grew up on his family farm in Pennsylvania and still enjoys rural life. He received his undergraduate degree in Dairy Science from Delaware Valley University, a Masters in Animal Science from the University of Delaware, and his Veterinary Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is interested in preventative animal health care, veterinary dentistry, and human animal relationships.When not practicing veterinary medicine, he enjoys hiking with his wife and dog named “Truman”, biking, and skiing. He holds a private pilot’s license and plans to explore the Rockies from the air as well as the ground.
